Benefits to Schools

As well as being members of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, Supply and Demand Recruitment Ltd holds the Quality Mark, an accreditation created by the DCSF / REC to ensure that schools and Supply Teachers receive a quality service.
Supply and Demand Recruitment Ltd has been independently inspected and has supplied evidence that their procedures are clear, consistent and of the highest quality.

By working with Supply and Demand Recruitment Ltd, you can be assured that:

  • All relevant checks have been conducted. In addition to a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure, this also includes confirmation of identity and the right to work in the UK, verification of GTC registration and status, qualification check, and a standard medical declaration. All checks take place prior to placement and you will be informed of any checks that are outstanding when the assignment starts.
  • A personal interview has been conducted. We will have met the candidate personally and assessed through a face to face interview that they are suitable for the work.
  • All relevant information has been supplied. The teacher will have received a clear statement of the contract conditions and will have signed a written contract.
  • At least two professional references have been taken. We will have followed up and confirmed all references to confirm the stated facts.
  • Overseas teachers are recruited under the law. The rules and regulations of the teacher's home country will have been followed, references and data from the home country will have been confirmed and all relevant UK requirements will have been adhered to.

Before any teacher is placed in a school, they have undergone extensive vetting procedures including:

  • Face to face interview to discuss the applicants preferences and strengths
  • Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check
  • Verification of qualified teacher status
  • Classroom effectiveness verified by two professional referees
  • Medical fitness confirmed
  • Registration with the General Teaching Council (GTC)

All teachers placed by Supply & Demand carry an identity card bearing a photograph which can be checked on initial entry into your school.

One telephone call is all that is needed to arrange your supply cover.

Supply & Demand will:

  • Provide a suitable replacement teacher who meets the needs of your school
  • Fully brief the teacher as to the schools requirements for that day
  • Monitor the supply teachers performance with a telephone call after school
  • Report back to the supply teacher to ensure that standards of professionalism and service are consistently upheld
  • Keep records of feedback from schools in order to monitor the supply teachers performance over a longer period
  • Supply CVs and references for a number of suitable candidates in the event of long term cover being required
  • Issue schools with a detailed weekly invoice

Our teachers are allocated on the basis of suitability not just availability. We ensure that teachers are appropriately trained or experienced and are not placed outside their own area of expertise.
